A New Beginning in Forks
The rain pattered against the window as Bella Swan stared at her new home in Forks, Washington. The small town felt different from sunny Phoenix. Everything was green and wet. ️
"Welcome home, Bells," Charlie said with a smile. He was Bella's dad and the town's police chief. His police car sat in the driveway, shiny from the rain.
Bella grabbed her bags and walked inside. The house was just like she remembered from summer visits. Small but cozy. Her room was upstairs, painted in light purple.
Fun Fact: Forks gets more rain than almost any other town in America! That's why everything is so green.
The next day was Bella's first day at Forks High School. Her tummy felt full of butterflies as she drove her old red truck to school. The truck was a gift from Charlie - it was noisy but Bella loved it.
In the school parking lot, something caught her eye. A shiny silver car stood out among the other old cars. Next to it stood five of the most beautiful people Bella had ever seen. They were the Cullens.
"Those are the Cullens," whispered Jessica, a friendly girl who sat next to Bella at lunch. "They keep to themselves mostly. The one with the reddish-brown hair is Edward."
Edward Cullen was different. His skin was very pale, like snow. His eyes changed color some days. And he never seemed to eat anything at lunch.
In Biology class, Edward sat next to Bella. But something strange happened:
"Hi, I'm Bella," she said with a smile.
Edward moved as far away as he could. His face looked angry. He held his nose like he smelled something bad.
Why did Edward act so weird? Bella couldn't stop thinking about it. There was something special about him - something not normal.
Later that week, something amazing happened. Bella was standing next to her truck when Tyler's van started sliding on the ice. It was going to crash into her! But suddenly, Edward appeared out of nowhere. He stopped the van with his bare hands!

"But that was a long time ago," Bella said.
"The same ones," Jacob whispered. "They don't change."

That night, Edward appeared in Bella's room. He moved like a shadow, quiet as a cat.
"You figured it out," he said softly.
Bella nodded. "You're a vampire."

A storm was coming to Forks. And Bella was caught right in the middle of it.
That night, howls echoed through the forest. They weren't from normal wolves. Edward's face got serious when he heard them.
"There are other secrets in Forks," he said. "Other monsters besides vampires."
Moonlight and Shadows
The woods shook with deep growls. Bella watched as Jacob ran into the trees, his whole body shaking.
"Stay back!" Jacob yelled. His voice sounded different - rougher, wilder.
Then it happened. Where Jacob stood, a huge russet wolf appeared. It was bigger than a horse! The wolf looked at Bella with Jacob's dark eyes.
Amazing Discovery! Jacob wasn't just Bella's friend anymore. He was a werewolf - protector of the Quileute tribe!
"We protect people from vampires," Sam Uley explained later. He was the wolf pack leader. "It's what we do. It's who we are."
Bella sat in Emily's kitchen. Emily was Sam's wife. She had scars on her face from when Sam lost control of his wolf form.
"Being near vampires makes us change," Jacob said. He wouldn't look at Bella. "That's why there are so many wolves now. The Cullens being here woke up our wolf magic."
Two worlds pulled at Bella's heart. Edward and his vampire family. Jacob and his wolf pack. Both were part of her life now.
Bad news came fast. Alice Cullen saw danger in her future-seeing vampire power.
"Red-eyed vampires are coming," she warned. "They drink human blood. They want to hunt in Forks."
Edward held Bella close. "We'll protect you."
"We'll help," Sam said. The wolves and vampires looked at each other. They didn't like it, but they had to work together.

But happy times didn't last. Dark clouds came. Thunder boomed. ⛈️
"They're here," Alice whispered.
Three vampires with bright red eyes stepped out of the forest. They smiled with sharp teeth. They were hungry, and Forks looked like a perfect place for dinner.
Edward stood in front of Bella. Jacob's wolf form growled beside them. The fight for Forks was about to begin.
"Run," Edward told Bella. "We'll handle this."
But Bella knew she couldn't just run away. Her two worlds were joining to fight evil. She had to help somehow. She just didn't know how... yet.
Blood Red Alliances
Dark clouds rolled over Forks. The Volturi were coming! They were like vampire police, with black cloaks and red eyes.
Alice paced back and forth in the Cullens' glass house. "They'll be here in three days."
"Who are the Volturi?" Bella asked. She sat close to Edward on the white couch.
Important! The Volturi make sure vampires keep their big secret. They don't like humans knowing about vampires.
"They're very old and very powerful," Carlisle explained. "And they're not happy that you know about us, Bella."
Edward squeezed Bella's hand. "They think humans who know about vampires are dangerous."
The front door burst open. Jacob ran in, shaking with wolf energy.
"We smell new vampires in the woods!" he growled. "Not the regular blood-suckers - sorry, Cullens."
The wolves and vampires gathered in the Cullens' living room. Natural enemies working together to protect Forks!
"There's only one way to keep Bella safe," Edward said slowly. "She needs to become one of us."
"NO!" Jacob shouted. The room shook.
"It's my choice," Bella said quietly. She stood up tall. "I want to be a vampire."
The Big Choice: Bella would have super powers as a vampire. But she'd have to leave her human life behind.
Rosalie stepped forward. She was the prettiest vampire Bella had ever seen. "Being a vampire isn't all fun and games, Bella. You can never go back."
"I understand," Bella nodded. "But I love Edward. I want forever with him." ❤️
Alice jumped up suddenly, her eyes far away. She was seeing the future!
"The Volturi brought friends," she whispered. "Many friends. With red eyes."
Twenty vampires were coming to Forks. They were strong. They were hungry. And they wanted to meet the human girl who knew too much.
Sam spoke for the wolf pack. "We'll help fight. But if you change Bella, the treaty is broken."
"Then let's fight first," Edward said. "And worry about forever later."
Everyone started training. The wolves learned vampire fighting tricks. The Cullens practiced working with giant wolves.
Bella watched from the porch. She felt helpless. Everyone she loved was getting ready to fight - maybe die - for her.
"Don't worry," little Alice hugged her. "I've seen you as a vampire. You're amazing!"
Thunder cracked across the sky. In three days, the Volturi would come. In three days, everything would change.
Fire and Ice
The moon rose blood-red over Forks. Today was the day Bella would become a vampire!
"Are you sure about this?" Edward asked softly. They were in his room, watching the sunrise.
Bella touched the bite marks on her arm from James. "I've never been more sure of anything."
Vampire Facts: New vampires are super strong. They have red eyes. And they're very, very thirsty!
Carlisle came in with his doctor bag. "The change will hurt, Bella. For three days."
"Like fire in your veins," Edward whispered. He looked sad.
Suddenly, Alice burst through the door. Her golden eyes were wide with fear.
"The Volturi! They're coming NOW!"
The sky turned dark. Twenty vampires in black cloaks floated through the trees. Their red eyes glowed like rubies.
"Jane is with them," Edward growled. "Stay behind me, Bella."
The wolves howled in the distance. Jacob's pack was ready to fight!
Vampires and werewolves stood together. They formed a circle around Bella. Friends protecting her from danger!
"What do we have here?" a small vampire girl smiled. It was Jane. "A human who knows our secret?"
"She will be one of us," Carlisle said calmly.
Jane's red eyes narrowed. "When?"
"Right now," Bella stepped forward. "I choose this."
The Change Begins: Edward's teeth were sharp. His bite would start Bella's new life.
Jacob howled in pain. But he stayed, watching his best friend become something new.
"Do it," Bella whispered to Edward. "Make me strong."
Edward's cold lips touched her neck. Then fire exploded through Bella's body!
She screamed as the venom spread. Every cell burned and changed.
"Three days," Alice held her hand. "Just three days of pain."
The Volturi watched with dark smiles. Jane nodded once.
"We'll return when she wakes," she said. "She better be one of us by then."
The black cloaks disappeared into mist. But Bella didn't see. She was lost in the fire of change.
Her heart raced like drums. Her skin turned cold as ice. ❄️
