Small Town, Big Dreams
In a small town called Akron, Ohio, there lived a little boy named LeBron James. He didn’t have much, but he had big dreams that would change his life forever.
One day, when LeBron was nine years old, something amazing happened. His mom’s friend, Coach Frankie Walker, saw that little LeBron needed help. He invited LeBron to live with his family so he could have a more stable life.
“Would you like to learn how to play basketball?” Coach Walker asked LeBron one sunny afternoon.
LeBron’s eyes lit up. “Yes! Yes, I would!” he said excitedly.
The First Bounce
Coach Walker put a basketball in LeBron’s hands for the first time. It felt like magic! The ball was big and heavy, but LeBron loved how it bounced. He started practicing every day:
• In the morning before school
• During recess with friends
• After school at the local gym
• Even before bedtime in his room
Something special was happening. LeBron wasn’t just good at basketball – he was really good! Other kids started noticing how well he could play.
Growing Stronger Every Day
